How long are the sessions?

At least an hour but anything up to two hours. Out of tutoring hours I will also mark essays, provide essay feedback and set readings to help students fully grasp key content.

£50 – £65 per hour

Tuition is available throughout the week and weekends at a time that best suits you.

What’s the minimum time to work with a tutor?

A.

There is no set time limit and I will always try and help whatever the time constraints. However from experience the sooner tuition is started the better and best results are had from a tutor working from the start of the year.

Do you have a CRB / DBS certificate?

Yes, I have an up to date CRB / DBS certificate, which I am happy to provide at the first lesson.

Nicky Tweedle

CHEMISTRY:

Dr Ezi Williams
A qualified chemistry teacher, DBS checked and with over 20 years of teaching experience. Formerly a teacher at St. Paul’s Girls’ School in London for 12 years but moved to Oxford in 2010 and has been tutoring since then. She won a national prize for teaching chemistry and is also an A Level Chemistry examiner.

Nigel Straney
Nigel is a qualified Chemistry teacher, highly experienced tutor and a current A-level examiner. Since 2013, he has taken his Chemistry specialism online and offers Chemistry tuition to both International and UK students. He is an extremely successful and highly prepared teacher, currently offering syllabus specific tuition for AQA, CIE, Edexcel & OCR.

Paul Morgan
Paul is a former nuclear waste research manager for the atomic energy authority in Sellafield. He is  a fully qualified and experienced teacher of chemistry & his scientific research has been published in the Journal of Radiochemistry. Paul also teaches GCSE Maths.

Kate Nickson
Kate has a PhD and Masters in Chemistry, as well as a PGCE and Masters in Education, all from the University of Cambridge.

 

PHYSICS:

Sam Jordan
Sam is a teacher/tutor with almost 20 years experience teaching physics from KS3 to KS5 ( ages 11 to 19). He works in a top British independent school and is an examiner with the most well known UK exam board. Further to this he is the author of a series of six GCSE physics exam practice books with Scholastic. Scholastic is the largest publisher of educational books in the world and have also been published by Hodder and the AQA Group. He is a full member of the Institute of Physics (MInstP) and a Chartered Physicist (CPhys).

Alex Vearey-Roberts
Alex comes from a family of educators, is a full-time professional tutor with over 10 years  of experience.  He enjoys helping others reach their potential and has a First Class Degree and PhD in Physics. He also teaches Maths up to A-Level.

Amanda J Harrington is a tutor and author of numerous books on literacy, as well as other non-fiction and fiction books for children.

Dr Sophie Breese
A former English teacher at St Paul’s Girls’ School and lecturer at Oxford University, now working as an independent English tutor. Muhammad Ali

Hannah Ellis
Hannah completed her undergraduate degree at the University of St Andrews and did her research project on the neuromuscular disorder Parkinson’s disease. She then qualified as a Bowen Therapy practitioner before completing her international teaching degree at the University of Sheffield. In 2009 Hannah founded Tuition Matters and began working full time as a private tutor. She teaches A-Level Biology & Geography.
