A Level results 2020
Every year students wait anxiously for A-Level grades that they think will define them forever. It may do for a day or two but after that it is only prologue.
This year more than ever those grades are meaningless as you didn’t even get to sit the exam. The grade you receive is only a guess, an educated guess, but a guess nonetheless. You might have tried harder than expected. You might have buckled under the pressure. You might have done better than expected. You might have done worse.
You’ve had to go through this year more than most students will. In a perfect world I’d give you all A’s. Some of you might be lost. Some of you might be frightened. Some of you might be grieving. This year more than any forget about the grade. Remember what you’ve learnt. Remember how your teachers made you feel. Remember how it feels to learn something new and use it. You can’t measure that with a grade.
Be kind to yourself. It’s only a grade. It’s only a letter. It does not define you. You define you.
